Proudly Based in Carthage, TN

Since opening our doors in 2017, Ebel’s Tavern has been one of the most beloved places in Carthage. As the first establishment in the town to serve liquor by the drink since prohibition, Ebel’s Tavern is at the forefront of restoring the downtown area to its original vibrancy. Our restaurant, located inside the historic courier building, is inspired by the town’s founder, William Walton, whose first business was a tavern and ferry, located feet from the Cumberland River. Our recipes, flavors, and food model several varieties and tastes from across the United States.

From west coast wild-caught tuna to hand-cut aged center steaks down to the Atchafalaya Basin’s cajun flavors back home to Grade A Tennessee Sow, Ebel’s Tavern approaches several tastes to satisfy your pallet.

We’re proud to serve the best beef and steaks in the town along with fresh oysters on the half-shell, scallops and other seafood. Executive Chef Christopher Underwood brings local flavor to each dish with the freshest produce as all of our vegetables are planted, grown and brought to us fresh, several times a week. We look forward to sharing our menu with you and offering you a taste of some of the finest food you will ever eat. Enjoy!
